【摘要】:Thistestmethodprovidesameasurementofpurity(assay)ofaldehydesandketones.Theresultsofthesemeasurementscanbeusedforspecificationacceptance.Theprecisionofthistestmethodisapplicableonlytomaterialhavingapurityof98to100%.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthepurityofcertaincommerciallyavailablealdehydesandketones.1.2Inadditiontoallaldehydesandketones,allcompoundssuchasvinylalkylethers,acetals,andketals,thathydrolyzeundertheconditionsofthereactiontoformfreecarbonylgroups,reactwiththereagentandconsequentlyinterfere.Water,alcohols,saturatedesters,andhydrocarbonsdonotreactwiththereagent,butlargeamountsofinertorganicsolventsareundesirablebecauseoftheeffectontheindicator.1.3Forpurposesofdeterminingconformanceofanobservedoracalculatedvalueusingthistestmethodtorelevantspecifications,testresult(s)shallberoundedoff"tothenearestunit"inthelastright-handdigitusedinexpressingthespecificationlimit,inaccordancewiththerounding-offmethodofPracticeE29.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecifichazardstatements,seeSection7.1.6Forhazardinformationandguidance,seethesupplier''sMaterialSafetyDataSheet.
