【摘要】:Themethodisalsosuitableforothercationic-activematerials.Notapplicableifanionicand/oramphotericsurfaceactiveagentsarepresent.Thesampleistitratedinatwo-phase(aqueouschloroform)systemagainstastandardanionicsurfaceactiveagentinthepresenceofanindicatorconsistingofmixedanionicandcationicdyes.Thecationicsurfaceactiveagentpresentinthesampleinitiallyreactswiththeanionicdyetoformasaltwhichdissolvesinthechloroform,impartingabluecolourtothislayer.Duringthetitration,theanionicsurfaceactiveagentdisplacestheanionicdyeand,attheendpoint,formsasaltwiththecationicdye,impartingagreyish-pinkcolourtothechloroformlayer.
