【摘要】:AdiscussionoftheissuesandlimitationsassociatedwiththemeasurementofstrengthpropertiesofadhesivebondsinshearbycompressionloadingisfoundinTestMethodD905.Whilevariouscombinationsoftesttemperatureandheatexposuredurationcanbeused,theprovisionsspecifiedin7.2.4shallbebasedontheunderstandingthattheobjectiveofthistestmethodistoevaluateadhesivebondperformancejustbeforewoodbeginstoburnandtheelevatedtemperatureisselectedtobeslightlybelowtheunpilotedignitiontemperatureforwoodwhentakenintoaccountthespecificproductanditsend-useapplications.Whenusingthistestmethod,considerationshallbegiventotheuniqueproductionconditions,suchaswoodmoisturecontent,appliedspreadrate,presspressure,andcuringtemperatureoftheadhesive.1.1Thisstandarddescribesatestmethodforevaluatingthecomparativeshearstrengthofaplanaradhesivebondatbothambientandelevatedtemperaturesrelativetotheperformanceofsolidwoodunderthesameconditions.ThetestmethodisbasedonthebreakingloadafterthespecimenisexposedtoeitherambientoraconstantelevatedtemperatureforaspecifieddurationasdescribedinSection7.Thisstandarddoesnotprecludethedevelopmentandimplementationofothermethodsthatprovideequivalentperformancemeetingtheintentofthismethod.1.2ThistestmethodisintendedfortheevaluationofadhesivesthatcanbeusedtoassembletestspecimensinaccordancewithTestMethodD905.Theevaluationofothertypesofadhesives,suchasthebindersystemsusedforstrand-basedproducts,isbeyondthescopeofthistestmethod.1.3Thistestmethodisintendedfortheevaluationofadhesivesasacomponentoflaminatedwoodproductsatelevatedtemperatures.Theevaluationoffireperformanceonfire-ratedlaminatedwoodproductsorassembliesisbeyondthescopeofthistestmethod.1.4WhileitispreferabletousesolidwoodspecimensasdescribedinSection6asthecontrol,structuralcompositelumberproductsasdefinedinSpecificationD5456shallbepermittedforuseprovidedtheyarematchedwiththebondedspecimensinaccordancewithSection6andtheignitiontemperatureisnotsignificantlylowerthansolidwoodofthesamespecies.1.5Theexactformulationofadhesivesuppliedtothemanufactureroflaminatedwoodproductsshallbeevaluated.Modificationstotheadhesiveformulationrequireaseparateevaluationunlessapprovedbythemanufacturerofthelaminatedwoodproduct,qualifiedagency,andcodeevaluationagency.1.6ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.7Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,suchasthefirehazard,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
