【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandardspecifiestheminimumoperationalandperformancerequirementsandmethodsoftestingforElectronicChartSystem(ECS).ECSsaredesignedforuseasnavigationinformationsystemsonvesselsnotrequiredtocomplywithChapterVoftheInternationalConventionfortheSafetyofLifeatSea(SOLAS).IfthefullfunctionalityofElectronicChartDisplayandInformationSystem(ECDIS)accordingtoIEC61174isconsideredtobeunnecessary,ECSmaybesuitableforanavigationinformationsystemforcertaintypesofvessels.Thestandarddefines3ECSclassestodescribethreedifferentlevelsofnavigationalfunctionality.Higherlevelcompliancemayrequireadequateback-uparrangementstoensuresafenavigationintheeventofanECSfailure.
